One of my daughter’s favorite things to do is play at the beach. And when we go it means hours of rolling in the sand, making mermaid tails by burying her legs and practically making her disappear in the sand. But lately, I’ve enjoyed practicing spelling with seaweed and making fun shapes with found objects. We also love pulling each other with a long piece of strong seaweed down the beach. Talk about a good way to play a game and get your child’s energy out. It’s nice to have her playing with all the natural elements and of course, we like to collect too!
This heart made of rocks we made just by gluing them with hot glue to a wooden box. Willow collected all of the rocks so they are special for us to showcase. I also love rocks with all of the holes, and they are great for stringing, too.
LOVE…I typically like to follow the holidays and craft all month long with the corresponding theme. Valentine’s is around the corner and so LOVE is high on our list of things to be grateful for and so hearts prevail.
My hope is that someday we will build a fun structure on the beach and play inside all day long. This is a great way to work with nature and teach all in one!
